At first, the Egyptian tongue appears utterly incomprehensible; a cross between Russian and Alien. But the basic structure isn't actually too demanding, and the hotel staff are generally more than happy to help.

So get stuck in - it's a brilliant language to learn.
Where else would you get phrases like 'Mish-moom-kin' (meaning: 'not possible', or 'unbelievable!') or 'Min-fad-lack' (a sort of cross between 'Oy!' and 'excuse me'). Or hows about 'Mafishmushkeda', which seems to translate to 'no problem'...
Here are a few other useful ones (spelt phonetically!):
Salaam - hello arba - four
shokran - thank you hamsa - five
wahad - one/a tchai - tea
ick-neen - two nescafe - coffee
tel-leta - three  
So now you can already order a cup of tea:
"Minfadlack! Wahad tchai..."
