Feted as the site of Moses receiving the Ten Commandments during the Exodus journey, Mount Sinai offers an unforgettable 'night out'.

A moonlit hike to the summit of the 2286m mountain is rewarded by a stunning sunrise view of the entire peninsula, and an equally beautiful walk back down to the Monastery through a ravine of fantastically sculptured rock faces.

Founded in 600AD, St Catherine's is a fully functioning Greek Orthodox monastery with some 20 monks now living there. Its chapel is laden with priceless artifacts and history, and can be visited in the morning, when the Monks will show you around.
