With 12 years experience between them working with companies such as Sunworld (now Neilson), the Hilton’s pedalos were a bit tame…but there was talk among local windsurfers of awesome locations in the Sinai.

On arriving at the shores of Moonbeach, there was no question as to its potential. They struck up a deal with the hotel to teach their guests from Cairo and 2 months down the line - having windsurfed virtually every day in force 5 - the mission was clear.

After much juggling of Egyptian bureaucracy, Gybemasters windsurf centre was born, hosting individual holidays, BOARDS magazine trips and Simon Bornhoft courses. In the last year they have entered into the new era of the yoga, massage and detox programme.

Phil and Lez still spend time in resort as well as back in the office..their passion for Moonbeach remains!
